Acronis: PC users know the importance of backup
However, almost a third of PC owners don't back up their files

More than four in five (83 percent) of PC users know how important it is to backup their data regularly, says Acronis.
Research by the online backup service revealed, almost a third (29 percent) of PC owners do not backup their files while a quarter admit they only backup when they remember. Just 15 percent say they backup their data on a regular basis.
Furthermore, nearly two thirds (62 percent) admit to worrying about their PC crashing or being stolen, which is double the number concened about getting a virus on their machine.

"It is encouraging to see that more and more people are becoming aware about backup and recovery," said David Blackman from Acronis.
"However, consumer backup practices are still sloppy and many of us are putting months' worth of data at risk. While awareness of backup is creeping up behind antivirus we're still not at the stage that security products are at."
