Orange details Apple iPad 3G data plans for UK

Full day mobile browsing available from £2

Orange is the first UK network to unveil mobile broadband deals for Apple iPad 3G owners.

Apple's Slate PC is available for pre-order today (10 May 2010) after Apple delayed the UK launch of the highly-anticipated device by a month due to unprescedented demand in the US.

Orange customers will be able to choose from four different 'pay-as-you-consume' tariffs.

For £2, iPad owners will be given a day's browsing valid for one day until midnight and capped at 200MB, while a week's browsing capped at 1GB (valid for seven days until midnight), is priced at £7.50.

Alternatively, iPad Monthly 15 costs £15 per month and offers 3GB of mobile data and 750MB of Wi-Fi access through BT Openzone hotspots, while iPad Monthly 25 is priced at £25 and offers 10GB of 3G browsing and 750MB of Wi-Fi access.

Orange is also offering a pay-as-you-go option priced at 5p per MB of data.

According to Apple's website, the iPad will cost £429 for the 16GB Wi-Fi model, while the 32GB and 64GB versions will be priced at £499 and £599.

Meanwhile, the 3G models cost from £529 for the 16GB model, £599 for 32GB and £699 for 64GB. All prices include VAT.

Apple has added a £100 premium for the addition of 3G functionality.

Vodafone and O2 are also expected to reveal price plans for iPad owners in the near future.
