Apple iPhone also on Vodafone

Now on Vodafone, as well as Orange and O2

Vodafone is following in the footsteps of Orange after it revealed it will also make the Apple iPhone available to its customers soon.

Yesterday Orange confirmed it will stock the handset as O2's exclusive two-year deal with Apple to offer the iPhone has expired. The announcement follows months of speculation as to whether other UK networks would be able stock the handset.

Vodafone customers in the UK and Ireland will be able to get their hands on either the iPhone 3G or the iPhone 3GS in "early 2010".

However, Vodafone hasn't released pricing details or an exact date yet. Customers can register their interest at Vodafone's dedicated web page.

"Vodafone UK will sell the iPhone 3G and 3GS early in 2010. We're looking forward to giving our consumer and enterprise customers the iPhone and welcoming new customers to the UK's best network," said the mobile network.

"The iPhone complements our already extensive range of Internet-ready mobiles including Vodafone 360 that allow customers to surf the internet, watch video, keep in touch through social network sites and email, and download and listen to music."

The announcement comes as it was revealed that the iPhone has been voted the UK's coolest brand, knocking luxury car marker Aston Martin off the top spot.
