CloudBees cloud app development platform available on Verizon Cloud

Already available on AWS

Article comments

The CloudBees enterprise platform-as-a-service (PaaS) offering is now available on the new Verizon Cloud.

Verizon Cloud was announced last October and is now in public beta. It includes an IaaS (infrastructure-as-a-service) platform, Verizon Cloud Compute; and an object-based storage service, Verizon Cloud Storage.

These two services, said Verizon, are built for the enterprise but "nimble enough to meet the needs of small and medium-sized businesses, individual IT departments and software developers".

“We are working with best-in-class enterprise technology companies to bring additional value to our customers above the core availability, performance and security we’ve built into Verizon Cloud,” said John Considine, chief technology officer at Verizon Terramark.

“CloudBees is a leading PaaS provider with an experienced team. We’re pleased to formalise a longstanding relationship with CloudBees and its proven service for our customers’ benefit,” he said.

Andrew Lee, CloudBees’ vice president of business development, said, "With CloudBees’ track record of delivering PaaS as a true service, we’re eager to bring our value to Verizon’s next generation cloud offering.

“CloudBees is covering the entire application delivery lifecycle, which is a complete solution for enterprise organisations on Verizon Cloud.”

Belgium-headquartered CloudBees already makes its cloud-based app development platform available on Amazon Web Services. It says eBay, HP and Cisco, as well as a number of start-ups, are previous customers.
