All ministerial departments now migrated to GOV.UK

The Government Digital Service recently won an award for the design of the single domain website

The Government Digital Service (GDS) has completed the migration of all 24 ministerial departments onto the government's recently launched central domain website, GOV.UK.

Citizens now looking to access services or find information from the likes of the Cabinet Office, HMRC or the Department for Work and Pensions, will now be directed to the new platform.

GOV.UK launched in October last year and will act as a single domain for citizens accessing services and information across government, and forms a fundamental part of the government's digital strategy to get more transactions online to cut costs and improve efficiencies.

Despite reaching this significant milestone, GDS now has to focus on migrating the remaining public sector departments and public bodies - over which there are still over 200 to go.

However, it has been a successful year for the GDS team, which also recently won the prestigious Design of the Year award for the GOV.UK website. Commenting on the win, Prime Minister David Cameron said: "For the first time, people can find out what's happening inside government, all in one place, and in a clear and consistent format.

"It is just another example of Britain's world class design talent standing out on the global stage."
