Logicalis buys 2e2 European operations – excluding UK

IT services firm Logicalis is acquiring the four European subsidiaries of failed company 2e2 for €24 million (£20.7 million), but isn't taking on the UK business. 

2e2 recently went into administration, leaving companies with the prospect of having their websites being shut down and their corporate data becoming inaccessible. Daisy Group was appointed by Oakley Capital Private Equity to manage the failed 2e2 data centre business.

As part of Logicalis' purchase, approximately 70 people from the defunct 2e2 UK operation have been taken on and the company says it has "assumed some of its respective business".

Logicalis Group is acquiring the 2e2 Spanish and Irish systems integration businesses, operated under the Morse banner; the Channel Islands business (Jersey and Guernsey); and an operation in the Netherlands which is an IT service management (ITSM) consultancy, also providing ITSM-as-a-Service offerings.

Ian Cook, chief executive of Logicalis Group, said: “This transaction delivers on our stated intentions to grow our European presence and augment our solutions and services capabilities. In particular, the Spanish business is strategically important to us to strengthen relationships with our multinational clients in Latin America.

"The service management consultancy business further enhances our services offering and allows us to introduce it to Logicalis’ wider international audience."

Cook said the acquisition would aid the company in the communications and collaboration, data centre, managed services and cloud services markets.

The Spanish operation is based in Madrid and Barcelona, the Irish one in Dublin and Cork, and Logicalis says the Channel Islands operation is one of the largest IT service firms based in the Islands.
