Google Chrome for iOS bugs fixed in updated version

Upgrade fixes 'compatibility issues' with some websites, including Yahoo Mail

Google has released a new version of its Chrome browser for iOS devices that stamps out some bugs, including one that interfered with Yahoo Mail.

This upgrade fixes "compatibility issues" with some websites, including Yahoo Mail, in the Chrome edition for iPads and iPhones.

The new version also eliminates log-in problems at some websites, as well as an issue where the "Most Visited" sites feature triggered a blank page instead of the intended list, Google said.

"You can get the update via the App Store, or from the prompt inside of Chrome," read Google's announcement.

Some outstanding known bugs remain, including the absence of a browsing history log feature.

"This feature is currently unavailable. However, you can view your most visited sites and recently closed tabs on the Most Visited section of the New Tab page," reads the browser's FAQ and Known Issues page.

In that page, Google explains several inconveniences in Chrome for iOS, most of the time attributing the blame to Apple's OS, such as users' inability to make Chrome their device's default browser and to create shortcuts to websites on the iOS home screen.
