Fix found for London 2012 Olympics ticket resale site

But website has yet to reopen

Locog, the organiser of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, has revealed that a fix has been found for the ticket resale website problems.

However, the site is still offline, and the organisers have declined to provide more information into what the technical problem was.

"Locog confirms that a solution has been found to enable the ticket resale platform to reopen this week," a London 2012 spokesperson has said.

The ticket resale website, run by Ticketmaster, has been suspended since a glitch was found at its launch on Friday 6 January.

Customers using the website, the official channel through which customers must sell unwanted Olympic and Paralympic tickets at face value, found that the system was slow to update when tickets were no longer available.

The website has reopened on 10 January for new sales of Olympic football and Paralympics tickets only.

The window for the initial round of ticket reselling is meant to take place until 3 February. Another chance to resell tickets is planned for after April.

The London 2012 ticket website has been beset with problems from the start, with high demand knocking the site offline during both the first and second round of ticket sales last year.
