G4S hires DataFlux tech to help improve business data on SAP system

Cash Solutions modernises IT systems by moving apps to a single SAP platform

G4S Cash Solutions has selected DataFlux technology to help analyse, improve, control and consolidate its business data on a new single SAP system.

Cash Solutions is a division of the G4S security company, and runs secure cash transportation, ATM outsourcing and outsourced till management. It employs 7,000 employees, has a fleet of 2,000 vehicles, and operates 43 cash transportation branches and ten cash and coin centres.

The firm is modernising its business IT systems by consolidating operational, customer facing and finance applications onto a single SAP platform. DataFlux technology is being used to help migrate the company’s legacy data into the new SAP system, enabling consistency and accuracy of data when amalgamated.

G4S will also use the technology to develop and execute business rules that improve the quality of legacy data, while enriching customer information with external datasets such as demographic and geographic information.

An automated data improvement process will allow G4S to standardise data across its other operational systems, while identifying and merging records from multiple systems.

The new SAP system will contain a single version of the truth which will improve the company’s ability to serve its enterprise customers and to refine its operations, said the firm.

David Jackson, senior project manager at G4S, said, “We view our data as a key business asset, and this programme is focused on governing our data to deliver benefits.

"Improving customer data by consolidating on to one platform in this way will increase operational efficiency and ultimately enhance our levels of customer service."
He said further legacy systems may be moved to the SAP platform in the future.

In other data consolidation news, beer giant Fosters recently signed a data integration deal with Informatica, as part of a project to get a single view of its global operations.
