Twitter feeds to show up in Yahoo
Content sharing alliance bears fruit

Yahoo and Twitter announced a deal to put Twitter feeds on Yahoo homepages, email accounts, Yahoo Sports and other sites in a broad content sharing agreement that also includes Twitter in Yahoo search results.
The global partnership will also include realtime public Twitter updates in a range of Yahoo properties, including Yahoo News, Finance, Entertainment and Sports. Yahoo search users will be able to see Twitter results immediately, while other aspects of the new agreement will go into effect later this year, the companies said in a joint statement.
This won't be the first microblogging tie-up for Yahoo. The company reached a deal with Facebook last December that allows Facebook users to view and send updates from Yahoo sites or put Flickr photos on Facebook.

Yahoo's Taiwan subsidiary also integrated the Plurk microblog service into homepages and email boxes early last year. It was immediately unclear what the global aspect of the new Yahoo-Twitter deal might mean for Plurk. Yahoo Taiwan could not immediately be reached for comment.
"Because of these connections [with Twitter and Facebook], anyone with a Yahoo ID can update multiple social networks simultaneously and stay in touch with the people and information that matter most at every moment of the day," the statement says.
Yahoo will also use Twitter's public data stream to improve the relevance of content across Yahoo's websites, according to the statement.
"The information in one single tweet can travel lightyears farther with this Yahoo! integration," said Twitter cofounder, Biz Stone, in the statement. "Tweets in more places brings relevance where and when you need it most."
