Yahoo acquires metrics business

Looking for online insights.

Yahoo is to buy Tensa KFft, more commonly known as IndexTools.

The acquisition includes IndexTools' web analytics business and technology as well as its Tensa R&D Kft. subsidiary. The company isn't divulging how much it's paying, but the deal is expected to be completed in the first half of 2008.

What Yahoo wants is IndexTools' technology for analysing client's online marketing efforts.

It will extend Yahoo's current analytics platform by adding capabilities to deliver insights and metrics for online campaigns that run across Yahoo's entire network, according to Yahoo.

Additional capabilities will enable third-party developers to monitor and optimise the traffic performance of their applications.
